Timothy James “TJ” Hansell established the Hansell Group to bring together a collective of talented young professionals to assist non-profits and tribal and for-profit businesses grow. He has worked in numerous positions that have enabled him to grow into the Chief Visionary of the Hansell Group. TJ has managed over $1M in tasking for a government contractor, has been the Executive Director of a 501(C)(3) non-profit and has worked for a tribal organization.
TJ is considered by many of his peers to be a grant expert that excels at building relationships with key stakeholders that creates an environment of success. He has worked on the following grants:
Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program
$3.2B in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds to over 2,500 local, state and tribal governments within the US
Better Buildings Neighborhood Program (BBNP)
~$508M in funding to 41 grantees to further building efficiency in the residential, commercial, agriculture and municipal sectors
Weatherization Innovation Pilot Program (WIPP)
~$30M to 16 non-profit, for-profit and local governments to further the weatherization efforts of groups in the low income market
Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG)
~$600M in funds to the eligible Federally recognized tribes (565 total Federally recognized tribes in the US) to improve their homeowner, rental and Section 8 housing stock
TJ has multiple degrees from the University of North Dakota: Business Economics, BBA and Master of Public Administration with a health care concentration. TJ also has a Grant Management Certificate from a leading training organization utilized by the many of the Federal agencies in the US.
